tucked between the pines and the salt air, wlfr 91.7 fm hums with a steady mix of sound and static. broadcasting from stockton university since 1984, wlfr has always done its own thing. students and locals keep it alive with music that drifts between genres — jazz, punk, hip-hop, noise, and everything in between. it’s not polished, but that’s the point. the story started in the seventies, when a few students ran cables through dorm walls at lake fred to share their music. the setup was rough, but the spirit stuck.today it still feels like that. a little unpredictable. a little human.tune in at wlfr 91.7 fm or above.
