About the event
think of this as a social event with history shared between laughs, the word like, and cuss words, less like a stuffy, basic walking tour. including the story of william riddle and his mother, Mary, who founded chelsea as a single mother of two, despite alllll of the odds. william went on to become mayor, got fire hydrants installed all over the city, and in 1916, while mayor, when he was already an old man, boxed jack cardiff in the name of freedom of religion in his basement. i have a few things to say about that fight. im sure you will, too. this is a nice little sneak preview into the book i am writing on the subject.
we’ll start on albany ave and work our way down to tony’s baltimore grill, stopping outside the knife & fork along the way. we’ll spend about an hour at tony’s before…
